My fantastic wife made me take a couple hours off to myself today. She knew I was jonesing for a break and a little camera time. I spent most of the day walking about with the 18-55 still set on 35. I'm really really enjoying working on shots as if I was carrying a prime. It feels so good getting in close to frame that shot just where you need it or had in your mind. To me; it turns even the most simple subjects into something more. Here's a few flower shots ....

Getting a little close to some of those bees with the 34mm shots.:)

LOL. Yep. Actually standing right up in the middle of several different flower plantings. A couple times I had to bolt quickly in retreat after bumping the wrong flower. Thank goodness the old man can still move when he has to. :)

I couple are cropped some and some are pretty close to original. Here's the original of the top one below ....

Then there was the dragonfly that just wanted to be shot. He just sat there flicking his head around as I got closer and closer. Then he even let me crouch down below him and then try from above as well. I've never seen one sit like that.

Here's an un-cropped version to show how close I was with the lens still on 35 ...

Looks a bit ragged. Probably had a bad day and just didn't care if the giant cyclops with the big glass eye ate him or not.:)

Oh, and the pics are good.

Early to rise, so I took a breather before heading in to work.

Had to throw the 80-200 2.8 on the D3200 just to see what I could do in a hurry at lunch. Cannot wait to get my D7000 tmrw and really put this lens to the test!!
