Pat and I went out for ice cream after dinner and there was a cruise in at Sonic...

Fall Burgoo Festival in downtown Lawrenceburg starts tonight. Big times in L'burg. For those that do not know what burgoo is... used to be whatever you killed stew... Now mostly beef and pork and such. But used to have more variety of protein like opossum and coon and.... etc...

It was a bit much for Pat and I tonight... we headed on home.

My brother in law Mike was mowing. He takes care of the yard for us. I get to dizzy doing our yard and it is steep enough that it is hard to stay in the seat.

Dad's birthday today. He would have been 84 today. It will be 5 years since he past the end of next month. Took Mom to the cemetery. I miss him at the strangest times.

after 5 years it doesn't get any easier mate, you just learn to get by with the loss, 31 years since i lost my father and as you said you miss him at the strangest times. Gone but never forgotten.

Took a little ride in the Jeep today. Found this old trestle on this small lane. I wanted to get on top but that gravel was a bit tooo loose for an old fat man and a cane

On the same road was a horse mansion... just does not seem right to call it a horse barn... and this was a low end mansion.

the "low end Mansion" is that the wooden corral in the center of the field @Danno ?? lol

That main barn is small. Not any spires. That coral is to protect the horses from hurting themselves on rough ground.

Saw the sun coming up this morning and had to get some shots. Soon as I picked up the camera Jersey perked up and met me at the door so we wandered about a bit a the sun came up... God's promise of another day.
