Rolling Thunder kind of got things started with this ride to the wall. They took their name from the bombing raids in Vietnam called "Rolling Thunder". If you have ever ridden the streets of DC 4 wide on Harleys and such it seems to fit.

Heather French Henry is the woman on the left. She is a former Miss America from Kentucky and she has supported this run since she won Miss America.

Lt. Govoner Jenean Hampton came to speak to the vets as they held the ceremony at the memorial. She is a great lady and is just down to earth.

Well, it has been a crazy spring. My mother decided that she was going to move to Arkansas to live near my sister. She was convinced that my wife had her hands full with me and my sister would be in better shape to care for her if necessary. So after 54 years in the same home, she sold it in one day for more than she asked. We have spent most of the spring getting the house ready to sell and then ready for her to move. Now Friday morning she heads west.

Pat and I will have to figure out what to do with our weekends. This is a photo of our most family sight. Mom stands on the porch waving by every time we went home. This is the only photo I ever took of her doing so. A frozen memory. She hates me taking her photo, but she relented this time

Went to see a bunch of guys I used to ride bikes with. About the only time I get to see them is during their annual poker run they do to raise money for a Veterans Home in Kentucky. Always good to see them.

Took Jersey Girl for a walk and came across a litter of Kittens hiding out under my trailer. We had just had a big rain and I guess this was a place to stay dry. There are 4 of them and the momma cat out there, Farrow cats.

It is the ways that they try to hide it that make me laugh. A friend tells me they try mixing it with all sorts of plants and trees but it is pretty difficult to hide.

People think that now that pot is legal in Colorado, there must be fields of it everywhere, and that it's growing in everyone's backyard. Actually you need a dozen different permits and, if anything, it's harder to get away with growing your own than it ever has been. Cool 'copter shot, Dan. I always look up when I hear that sound overhead.

an old car (haven't a clue what it was) came up the street yesterday and turned to go back down, then it started jumping, front wheels were in the air, man i would have liked to catch that on camera.

I bet that was one of those hydraulics cars that they can hop. You do not see many of those around here. I would like to see one of them too.

This has been a strange summer for me and photography. Migraines have kept me home a lot more than I like, but Saturday I got out with Pat driving and took some photos at a blacksmith gathering. It was fun. Also started new meds Monday and I have had 2 full days without a headache or a migraine. Feels strange... but I pray I have a chance to get used to it. ;)

Have not gotten many sunrise shots this summer, but I did get this one. It was the last day of August. I took it from a different vantage point.
