Although I primarily use my D850 for my photography, I periodically use it as a webcam as well.
I usually record the audio via a Hollyland M2s system plugged into the microphone port. Relying on the HDMI to carry the audio to my video software.
It was working perfectly until yesterday. Here's the issue:
I can see the mic/audio working when I check it in the menu "mic sensitivity" settings.
Speaking and/or lightly tapping the microphone. Since I normally run the HDMI trough a video monitor then to the computer via a CamLink 4K, I bypassed the monitor and ran the HDMI directly from my camera to the CamLink and computer... Crickets
I've updated all drivers on windows, check through all windows settings, the is no sound coming from the HDMI.
I really hope there's some setting in the menu I'm missing, but I fear there is some internal disconnect causing the problem.
Is there anyone who might be able to give me some insight on what I might be missing?
TIA
