I have 2 D7200 bodies, one only a day old. The older body shows on the firmware version screen in center column C 1.00 and L 2.009, after a recent upgrade on firmware by Nikon.
The young body shows on the firmware version screen on the left L0.01 and in center column A 1.0001, B 1.00b, L 2.009 and D 1.000014.
Both are legitimate US versions. Nikon customer service gives no explanation other than to say that everything other than the L 2.009 can be ignored. I've been in computer software for decades, and that response doesn't make sense.
Can anyone provide some insight? Nikon indicates I can send in the young body so they can determine whether a firmware upgrade is needed, but I hate to wait several weeks for a maybe upgrade for a brand new body.
