D7200 Error and Monitor wont turn on

The main LCD (monitor?) wont turn on. I tried pressing the menu key and the Lv button, it just goes back to "Err" on the control panel and stays dark. Never seen the LCD turn on.

I got this body used.

What I tried:
1. factory reset
2. formatted the sd card (it has a supported sandisk 512gb sdxc)
3. cleaned the lens connectors with rubbing alcohol and microfiber
4. fresh battery, 10 seconds unplugged.

1. Switch off
2. remove battery and card
3. switch on
4. Hold down the shutter for at least 15 seconds
5. switch off
6. re-install battery and card
7. switch on and keep your fingers crossed.

After adjusting the depth to around 18mm I press the shutter and it goes to Err and the mirror snaps, then I press shutter again and it says "250 f5" and the mirror snaps.

Without a lens or memory card, the Err message is the same. I hit shutter, I see Err, I hit shutter again, I see the ISO/F settings, then I hit shutter again and its Err.

Nikon wants me to send it in for more than I paid for it... 🤦

can I fix it myself? I can take this apart its just diagnosing exactly went wrong is still my main task...
