D7100 remote operation options

I have the D7100 and the Nikon ML-L3 wireless infared remote.

I've seen a cool IOS app that operates WiFi enabled cameras like the Fujifilm X-T1.

Are there any wireless options to alter settings, fire the shutter or Start/Stop Video?

I see Google Play apps like REMOTE CONTROL NIKON and WirelessMobileUtility by Nikon.
I understand I may need the WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter.

I just got an SMDV RFN-4 Wireless Remote Shutter recently. It actually works well for what I paid for it. That is if you are just looking for a wireless remote shutter release. Haven't tried the video though. But it should work. I'll check it out when I get a chance.
