D7100 Buffer Issue

I am aware that you have fixed your problem. But I suggest to use SD cards with a write speed of not any lower than 90mb. Here is a chart which shows you the write speeds.

You have to have a cpu lens attached or it grays out. Try a different lens to get access to it, although its probably not active if its grayed. The lens you have may be a cpu lens, but might not be on the list. You can also check to see if you have the latest lens data, I think its L2.009. It installs like a firmware update.

I'm using my Nikon 18-140. I'll check and clean the contacts. I didn't think about that. @siamthai1, no I'm not in HDR mode. Thanks for the idea.

Yes, my D7100 has the 'Auto Distortion Control' in the Shooting menu... However...
With my AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens fitted I can switch it on and off - no probs.
With my AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens fitted, the option is greyed out and I get the message 'This option is not available at current settings or in the camera's current state'
I wondered if this is because the 18-140mm is a fairly new lens and the camera does have info about it's distortion... Then I read more or your post!...
