I'm a hands on type of person BUT I also like to read books about the products that I have purchased. Was wondering if one of these would be good reading David Busch, Darrell Young or Dennis Thomas?? Thanks

The D7100 Field Guide (D. Thomas) is good but it's exactly what it says it is, a field guide. I tend to think it's what the manual that came with the camera should have been. David Busch goes into considerably more detail about just about everything. I'd say the Dennis Thomas book is a "D7100 101" sort of read, while the David Busch books are more of a "305" sort of read. Both are very good, just different.

I noticed that David Busch has a couple books on the D7100 anyone in particular?

Definitely go with the David Busch book(s). He goes into incredible detail and in terms anyone can understand.

I have the 'Mastering the Nikon D7100' by Darrell Young.
I like it and have it on my Kindle always with me.
Don't know the other books so I can't say if it's better than them.

I also have this e-book on my phone and my tablet. It is structured a bit like a manual, but with more details and very good explanations. For every setting in the menu he gives a recommendation, explaining what he does and why. I like it.

I have Darrell Young's "Mastering the D7100" on Kindle too, and I can't recommend it enough.

If you look on Amazon, they often have the "Look inside" feature, where you can see sample pages... Take a look at a few books and see which has a writing style that suits you.

I have the David Busch book and then I bought his field guide to put in my backpack. He has more than a million books in print so he must be doing something right. He is a pro, and has great tips.
