D7000, Tokina 11-16, unusual dark corners

Hello everyone

I'm new to this forum and I hope I could get some help.

I'm not sure if this the lens problem or camera problem, but I'm getting unusally dark asymmetrical corners in the wide angle photos, like this:

it's the same on the bottom left corner.

Is my lens problematic or the camera?

Are you using a filter of some sort, maybe a screw on one.?

Looks like it might be a polarizing filter on the lens? I sometimes see the same thing when I rotate the filter ring by accident.

I had UV filter on. I've removed it now and black areas are gone. Phew! :) thanks guys!

Welcome! :)

Is your UV filter a slim one? They make slim filters which help prevent vignetting on wide angle lenses, but since I don't own that lens, I don't know if a slim UV filter would eliminate the problem completely. In any case, nice to have you here.
