Going thru the same thing with a stepson. Stealing has been limited to booze. He was on the street for about 2 months (in Phx that can be brutal!). Hoping that is bottom and when a bed opens in the rehab we are waiting on, something clicks and works. I know I'm done with him. 38 freaking years old. I feel your pain Jim!

Oh wow, my heart just sank reading this thread. Really glad you got your gear back and I'm wishing you can find a solution to the situation you find yourself in.

Jim - while i have not experienced the turmoil caused by heroin addiction in my immediate family, i have seen the ravages of other kinds of trauma - physical, financial and emotional. My heart goes out to you and your family and i hope that your grandson finds his way to a healthier life, a more honorable and joyful life. While i am happy that you recovered your equipment, we all know what is really essential here. Good luck.

Glad to hear you got your stuff back, and VERY glad to hear you filed charges. Sadly, too many "family members" try to help by avoiding the use of law enforcement, and they get stuck in a never ending cycle of being the heroic victim. He's hooked on a tough drug, but hopefully some time in lock up will help.
