DSLRs provide much better video quality than cheap video cameras, for the video camera to be the same quality or better than A DSLRI would have to spend upwards of $6000-$10,000.

I wanted something that not only could provide great video but had most of the options unlocked, and also provided good photography. The D 5100 could not do that. And the most expensive videocameras on the market cannot provide me with those options together all-in-one either.

Definitely not a scam. I bought it from borrowlenses.com the camera is in great condition has about 20,000 actuations.I have a good relationship with them and I got a great deal on it.Now I must say I am extremely impressed with the build quality of this camera. It is leaps and bounds better than the D5100!Also frames per second burst is very impressive, I don't know how fast it shoots specifically but it's really quick.I Remember reading on the Internet all the time people comparing the D700 to the Canon 7D A lot of reviews said that the 7D was better than that D7000. Well I owned a Canon 7D for three years and I can say this, The d7000 is As much better dynamic range, I can pull shadows much better, the d7000 shoots almost as fast and the build quality is just as good if not better and it's a lot cheaper than the 7D.I am very impressed, And with the speed and the resolution being 16 megapixels it looks like I can probably get away with this camera for a while until I save up for a D4! Thanks for all that guys, I'm going to be doing a hands-on review of the D7000.

Glad to hear that you are pleased! Looks like a good deal at that. If I had the cash, I might be heading there too...

Look forward to your review..

I am just starting to explore the video after several D7000 owners told me how impressed they were with the video part. I love that it is easier than my video camera too. I love my D7000.

the d7000 is a fantastic camera even though it's a crop sensor it is still fantastic.

Writing a tutorial video on the differences between the SLR video and an actual ENG videocamera.

The sensor in the D7000 is Quite a bit larger than most ENG cameras. As an example the Sony ex3 is over $8000 and it has 3×1/3 sensors. Which is 8mm. The D7000 sensor is 24 mm, The D800 has a size of 35.9 mm.

In order to get an ENG video camera to produce the results of these cameras you have to spend a lot of money. The sensor in my D800 is actually larger than the sensor in the red one, the red Scarlet, the red epic, and even the Arri Alexa!

I have been producing film and video for over 10 years, I have used all Sony and Panasonic tape videocameras even the Betacam's from the 90s.

Nothing produces the results DSLR camera. Great quality, easy to edit, extremely versatile and can fit into almost any space, and the quality is far good enough for almost anything!

And the best part about it the price, we're talking like 10% 20% of the cost of major video cameras.

I think we have a winner!
