D600 less than two weeks old - dust problems

The other thing is the couple stubborn spots (two of which I have to pixel peep to see) don't show up when I shoot against a white wall with the flash like I did at work. So they may have been there before I even started all this testing. Most of the spots left with blowing. I think I will do a few more series of high speed continuous shots tomorrow and see what happens from that. If I don't get anymore stubborn spots I think I will call it there.

Did little over 200 actuation's tonight. 150 of which were high speed continuous (not all at once mind you).

Was some dust at the end of my testing. Then blew it out with my air bulb a few times. A couple stubborn spots. See for your self. What do you guys think?

I ran out of day light for sky shots. The wall shots don't show the dust as much.

Also checked my receipt for the other one. 5017xxx

This is about what mine looked like new. I doubt they are replacing shutters in their inventory. I would keep it and clean as needed or send in for the new shutter if it becomes worse.

Yeah. I can't say I have ever analysed a sensor this close before on a new camera. So I have no point of comparison.

If the stubborn spots don't get worse after today's testing I will just do a wet clean at some point and see where it goes. Have lots of warranty left.

I agree they wouldn't be changing shutters from inventory but I think this is from a older batch as well. It definitely doesn't have the filmy looking spots that my other one did.

Daylight!

And for reference here is my D7000 that just came back from Nikon servicing.

It's not perfectly clean either against a blue sky @ F16.

Yeah i'm happy with this especially considering the price I got.

And one more.

250 more actuation's (100 of which were high speed continuous in a row). Accumulated quite a bit of dust after that. But between the sensor clean and blowing at it with a air bulb again most of them went away. Just a couple new ones (and some really faint ones when pixel peeping) but they all look like dots and no smears like my other one.

So for now I am happy. I will see how things are around 3-4k actuation's and maybe do a wet clean.

Too bad this says nothing for new batches as it appears I have an old batch still.
