D5100 going extinct???

I bought mine a few months ago, and I am looking forward to the next few years of using it. The only way I would ever upgrade from the D5100 is if all lenses for it disappeared or if it got smashed. Before this I was using a F65. I have had it for 10 years now and the only reason I dont use it is because of the price of film (and I don't have a darkroom ;) ). So just because production is cut doesn't mean its out of date...new models always come out. But the good thing is it is a camera...a DSLR, not compact. Because of that, it will never be out of date.

Thanks for the welcome and the encouragement. It would do me no good to buy a new camera until this one won't do what I would like for it to do and I definitely haven't even come close to being proficient with it. Still have my OM1 and use it occasionally. It's kind of one of those things that I hate to part with. It's been around the world with me about 3 times and an old friend. Kind of expensive to use though. Again thanks. Jim
