D500 has a 1.3 crop factor in the menu

Has anyone figured if, when shooting in crop mode, can you gray-out the redundant part of the image in the viewfinder?
I seem to recall a post where it was possible with the d810.

I'd love to answer this, but I don't own, nor have never used, a D810. However, you can look up the instruction manual on it on the Nikon website as opposed reading my made-up random nonsense. I did, at it appears the answer is on Page 76.

But what do I know?
