D4s Or D810

Though I badly wish I could have D4s, I think the D810 would be the better choice. Now this is just an opinion of someone who never even held either camera. But if your doing mainly landscapes I would guess you'll be wanting to print some, and the higher MPs of the D810 ought turn out awesome large landscape photos! Anyway this is what I think. Lol :)

Interesting...I've never held a D4s but I have had a D810 and it's awesome. I guess the speed of the D4s and the resolution of the D810 make the choices obvious...Thanks guys!

I would say similar with my D3s and D800E, I prefer the D800E more which is why I took whatever it takes to resurrect my D800E. The NEF files are just uniquely better to manipulate and enhance. If my D800e dies, I'll get a D810.

I do but the boundaries are starting to blur between their use. Whereas with my D800e, it was purely static subjects and the D4s moving or low light, I'm now quite happy to use the D810 in low light( although the D4s does still have the edge in the extreme). Unlike some opinion though, the D810 autofocus for me, still isn't as quick as the D4s in fast sports such as F1 and skiing.

Thanks for your feedback. I can relate with the D810 when it comes to clean images at higher ISO especially once you down size the file.

The D810 AF might not be as instantaneous but it is still better compared to the lower models.

Absolutely, but the one thing I'm loving at the moment is the low analogue ISO of 64. Really helps in the beautiful weather that we're having at the moment.

Indeed, my ipad was the only thing available. However it's good enough for the majority of tourists around here at the moment!
Tickles me, when you see these darn great things being held to take photos

I probably got the same amount of strange looks when I was carrying my D810 with a 70-200 attached...One guy said "Got the heavy artillary out huh"? :D

In regards to the lens, I got the same response recently when I was at a state park photographing a herd of bison. On either side of me were lines of people holding up cell phones to photograph the herd (with one lady holding a Nikon P&S), and there I was with a 70-200mm f/2.8 and a 2x teleconvertor. The guy next to me laughed and said "broke out the big guns, eh?" :D

For me that's like asking if I could have a ferrari or a bently to race in, which would be more suitable.....your D810 is the ferrari.....way more sitable for landscape. That said, the D4S will still give you great images for landscape...the file sizes are considerably smaller too....around 20mb raw...whereas the D810 is around 70mb, which means your Mac/PC will need to work a lot harder in post!
