Yes, very captivating. Uh, nice job on the photos,too. I can see why that lens is so well recommended. Now I just have to figure out how to afford one.

Thanks Ron. I cannot lie to you since it took me a while before I could save up for this lens. It is not cheap at all but in the end, I am glad that I finally got it and I don't ever regret in buying it especially with the rebates that Nikon offered at the time.

These are fantastic photos, Glenn! The Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII is a powerhouse. That's for sure! :)

Can you tell us anything about their clothing--such as why they were dressed this way? Was it for a celebration?

Good portraits. But, I got to warn those colleagues who are considering obtaining this lens, that it's FOV shrinks as it "closes up" (at minimum distance of about 5feet, it's field of view equals to that of 65-135mm). Of course, for the portraits it can even come in handy...

Thanks Hark. These "My Little Pony" fans dressed up to mimic their favorite shows. It is indeed pretty common here in Japan and they also do a pretty big convention in the US.

The girl was dressed up as Twilight Sparkle according to the website. I had other shots that include more adults (Americans) but I didn't include them. Some might find it unusual or awkward but it is common here in Japan. It's all good to me as long as I get to shoot.

Doing some google search, it appears that there are more fans that are into this including Australia, US and Europe.

There is indeed focus breathing with Nikon zoom lenses but this acutally works for me especially when shooting in a tighter space. The VRI has less to no focus breathing.

I've asked that question on other forums, and one guy that sold his f2.8 VRII had to buy another one again since he found out that in darker venues, the focusing on the f4 hunts compared to the f2.8.

I was entertaining in downgrading to f4 version but after that personal experience, I quickly changed my mind since I also shoot a lot of indoor events.
