My wife and I took a short trip to The City of Rocks in New Mexico.
If you look close at this shot you will see the Motorhomes, RV's and the Visitor Center. It will give you a little idea on how large the rocks are out in the middle of nowhere.
A hen Turkey I barely got a photo of. These two are the same shot, only processed with different software. The shot was very underexposed, however PP software came to the rescue.
The first was processed with Capture NX-d and Photoshop Essentials
Today I went out looking for something old. Actually there is an old fort that was established around 1870. It is not well known and many don't even know it exists. There aren't any signs to direct you there. It was established to protect the ranchers from the Indians led by Cochise and Geronimo.
A few shots of the barn that is still standing on the fort.
It's been awhile since I posted here. We went on a little trip across the country to visit my wife's family. It was planned to be an easy trip, stopping at state parks, etc along the way. The first stop was outside of Alamogordo, NM.
We didn't go far the next day as I wanted to have time to look at the place where I spent the summers of my youth on my grandparents dairy farm located outside of Hugo, OK. We went to Hugo Lake.
An interesting cemetery located in Circus Town USA (Hugo, OK). A little trivia: Hugo, OK was where many of the circuses wintered so that was how it got the nickname of Circus Town USA. In fact at one time you could address a letter to Circus Town USA and it would get to Hugo OK. There is a complete area set aside for the circus performers to be buried in as well as some famous rodeo stars. Lane Frost is who the movie Eight Seconds is about.
