Went out to get some lightning shots. Not much success, but did have some fun.
I had hoped to get a lightning shot with this old house in the picture. No luck. Ha!
This almost looks fake, but it was the real deal.
And one more with just a little character.

How many stops did you need seems like a pretty bright day.

Not sure about the neighbors. I have found a .357 magnum works good for that.
The ND filter I used was an ICE ND1000 or 10 stop. It was a bright day at just after noon.
You're probably right Marilynne. I knew it didn't appear to be like other Sandhill cranes that hang out around here for the winter, but didn't know what other birds of this type were about. I kept looking for the red patch on the head, etc.

I had planned on getting some lightening shots, but nothing cooperated. When I got back home, I noticed the sky was looking pretty good to include the milky way, so............
I tried something I have never done before. Take a shot or two of the MW. Any suggestions on techniques or PP are appreciated.
