Coolpix P950 cannot pair with iPhone using snap bridge

I have just purchased a new Coolpix P950. I cannot seem to pair the camera with my iPhone using Snapridge. I have checked Airplane mode is off and re formatted the SD card.
When setting up Snapbridge it seems to go though the setup process and shows bluetooth is working on the Snapbridge front page, but when I go into the iPhone bluetooth menu it shows as not connected, and I cannot get any further with downloading photos.

Also, if I try to use wifi on Snapbridge it comes up with the following error message:
NOT_EXIST_DCIM_DIRECTROY

Any advice will be appreciated

Hello Dave and Welcome to the site.

Congrats on the new P950, I do not own one and my phone is Android so my help will be limited. The snap bridge app can be pretty frustrating so know its not you. You have provided good details so far, thanks for that.

One thing I find when connecting to WiFi (I understand Bluetooth is the goal) is the snap bridge app needs to be closed as I establish a wifi connection in phone settings then after connecting (it will show no internet access, that's normal) when opening the app you should see your camera. Since you report getting the DCIM directory message I suspect you got this far.

Some potentially dumb questions - do you have a way to read the SD card on a PC? Like a card reader, this will confirm your DCIM folder has been created correctly during format and you can see photos in it.

I use the app when on vacations to download via wifi photos to my phone to review usually not much trouble that way for me via the wifi connection.

In searching to try to help you there are many having issues with the Bluetooth connections. Hopefully someone may come along with the magic bullet for you.

I will just briefly add that you need to format your card in the camera to get the DCIM folder created.

Thanks for the prompt replies.
I am getting a card reader tomorrow, so will be able check out the DCIM folder on my computer.
I will spend some time on my camera this evening and try the above suggestions.
