Confused regarding my D7000 purchase....

I realized quickly when I was shopping for a dslr that whatever current model I purchased would eventually be replaced. I decided on the D7000 almost 2 years ago and haven't regretted it at all. Someday the D7100 will be replaced (D7200?) and then those two models will be debated. Enjoy your purchase and taking photos; you've got a very capable camera.

Went from older D90 to D7000. Could not be more pleased. Short of going to full frame, there is no other camera that I would trade it for. I look forward to many more years of using this camera.

Thanks everyone for the positive support on helping me understand the benefits of this wonderful camera.
The remorse of not purchasing the most current model was a bit overwhelming and had my head spinning...too much research on my part!

I actually love the D7000 and feel that for the amount I paid for it has been well justified.
I'm the kind of person who likes all the bells & whistles and became uncertain about my purchase when the D7100 is available.
Looking at the amount I have already spent on gear, I could have got the D7100 instead.

Now I need to learn what this camera can do and build my army of lenses!

Next...D610?

I think you made the right choice. I upgraded from a D90 and it had its limits. But the D7000 has done everything I've asked it to do. By buying the D7000 now your able to buy good quality lenses and that's what makes a difference.

I'm considering making the same switch so I appreciate you sharing that info.

If you shoot NEF, D7100 will leave you with enormous files. Image quality of D7000 is as good as D7100, only the file size differs! Besides 24MP truly demand PRO lenses.
