I used a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8. That lens spends the most time on the body.

I thought it might be the Tamron or the Nikon. I'm debating between the Fx version of each, hence my curiosity.

Very nice. Off camera but how? Bounced, umbrella, diffuser? The near perfect shadow makes me think bounced off the ceiling at about 30° off axis from the camera

It was done with an umbrella. Just got it yesterday and it was the first time I caught my son in front of it.

I have several umbrellas left over from my old 35mm and medium format days but no mounts or way to fire my SB700 remotely yet.
