Here is a panorama (using Microsoft ICE) of the backyard, taken from the ground level.

The temparature for the past four days was around 45 degrees centigrade. Today it is a bit lower, and as I write this, clouds have gathered and there may be rain.

The sky is overcast with intermittent showers. Mama is content as no one is approaching the chick in this weather.

Morning. The chick is in its original nest which we relocated from the tree.

The set up. The water bowl is just visible. Shifted it from the box, as the chick could have jumped into it.

By noon the chick is dozing.

The chick has flow the nest early in the morning. My wife saw mama feeding it at around 0700 hrs and by 0800 when I came to photograph, it was gone.

So the story ends. Our gardener was spot on. On the first day itself he was confidant that the chick would fly away by Saturday, and that is it.

That's awesome. Unfortunately my very similar story didn't have a happy ending. Needed to move a Robins nest to finish a front porch and her nest was up in the rafters. Hmmm
what to do. So we moved the nest to a nearby tree and well, momma wasn't interested anymore:(
