Joel ....wake up flash is not allowed in 99% of UK churches and not really neccessary..just set the iso auto to 800-6400 and blast away.
th point I was making is that what an amataur does once and thinks is fantastic a professional does every day and does not even think about it ....

If you do this every day would you please post one or two of the many pictures that you have already taken with a 400mm lens at 1/8sec without a tripod so I can see how a REAL PROFESSIONAL'S pictures would look like.

Yes, you can certainly crank the ISO to get a faster shutter speed and shoot in low light without a flash.... but not at 1/8th of a second, which was my point. That speed is FAR too slow for such a scenario, ESPECIALLY when shooting out at 200mm+. A professional such as yourself should know that. Maybe I am not the one who needs to wake up. And silly me on the flash/church rules in the UK.....being in NY and all, I should have totally known that!

First of all Jon there are no dumb questions. Any time you don't know something there are a lot more people that also do not know but are afraid to ask. By posting your question not only you can learn but so can many others that didn't know, so ask away.

I can place it between my lens and the camera and it doubles the reach of the telephoto lens bringing everything twice as close as it would be without it. It turns my 200mm lens into a 400mm lens and with the 1.5 crop factor of the sensor that gives me the equivalent of a 600mm lens as compared to a film camera, Jeff

Oh I don't think it was premature. It was the wording that he used that got me riled. I asked for an explanation, and none was given. However, since it has been explained since then, it's all good. I just wanted to make it clear that no disparaging remarks would be tolerated....hence the threat of a ban. No offense was meant at all, just a clarification.

I can see how the comment came off as not making much sense, because of the wording, but not disparging.
Maybe you didn't get a response right away because not everyone parks themselves in front of nikonites 24 hours a day. He responded when he came back online. Just saying that perhaps you overreacted a bit. I understand you have a job to do, but immediate threats like that aren't going to keep new members or lure in any new ones. Just saying.
