Change your year in the copyright info EXIF data

I think we need a place like a help thread for things like this. Remember to change the year in the copyright info EXIF data in each of your cameras.

Hopefully i have it sorted but please any one if you notice an error give me a shout,the D70 was wrong,yesterday i took some pictures and they had today's date on them

Been on my todo list for, what, 8 days now. LOL Meant to post the same, but only after I actually did it, which I still haven't did. Been fixing them all in LR.

Remember the date at the bottom of your LCD screen will change on it's own but the year that is shown on your copyright info in the EXIF data was typed in by you and will not change on it's own. So don't go by the date at the bottom of your LCD screen.

I understand the copyright info is a way to uniquely "mark" my photos. Is there a certain guideline to follow for the copyright info or is it a free-form-up-to-me item? Does anything (form, etc.) need to be filed/submitted anywhere?

To my understanding if you took the image that you have the copyright to it automatically. Last year we had someone taking our pictures and when I pointed out the copyright info on the pictures to the people running the sight where they were posted, the pictures were removed. I just put copyright by Jeff Impey 2014

I would just like to clear one thing up. The year and date at the bottom of your LCD screen will update automatically to the new year because it runs by itself and keeps the current dates. On the other hand any information such as comments or copyright info you type in yourself and has to be changed manually so don't look at the rear screen that has updated the year and think it also changed the info in your EXIF data because it hasn't.

I forgot!! Doing it now!!

Also, remember to change your watermark if using a date!!
