Hey everyone! Just thought Id share some of my favorite photos from these past couple months with my new to me D3300. I do edit in Lightroom Mobile and I know ive still got a ton to learn and be more comfortable with. But Im loving owning an actual DSLR compared to just using my phone camera.

Any thoughts and/or tips would be much appreciated. And just to note Im just using the 18-55mm kit lens for now. Kind of looking into getting a zoom lens for some more versatility.

Umm, I cant post any other pictures because it says the file is too large for the server to process or something...anyone have any tips on that?

Save a copy of your image at something like 1200 pixels. I don't use LR mobile, but the other LR programs have a custom option when you export. You can choose your file type and size, and several other parameters. This will bring your file size down considerably.

As Clovishound says 1200 on the long side. If you read here there a several method to get the image to insert in the post and appear not a just attachments.

Just a question do you realize you have exposure compensation set for both these images?

Sorry just realizing I missed a reply...

No I did not know...is that something I should turn off? Would it give me a tad more control with my exposure? And is that why on my camera it looks decently exposed, but when I go into lightroom, it seems to darken even more?

Not necessarily, it has its uses. I was surprised the setting was the same for both images. You should probably turn it off until you have had time to learn about it. It looks like you were shooting in manual mode, I do not use exposure compensation in manual just when using Auto ISO but if it works for you do it.

Yes, under certain conditions.

Not a lightroom user. If you are shooting RAW the files are dark and flat when imported, various programs handle the situation differently and options settings may make a difference. Some programs try to mimic the in camera JPG others do the minimum to make it visible as a starting point and may or may not use the exposure compensation setting.

Ahh gotcha, thank you!
