Whatever happened to all those shows like "candid camera", "laugh out loud", etc. where simple harmless and funny pranks were pulled on people?

Somebody shared the following on FB . . . not sure what language it's in . . . assuming nobody suffered a heart attack, it's just plain funny.

The original was great. I see them from time to time, most of them seem to take place outside the USA.
When reality TV was real.

My wife watches one of those prank shows online from Russia I think (?) and some of it is pretty funny. Yes a lot of countries have those candid camera-type shows still going on and probably with all the legality/suing issues in the USA people are weary of having shows like that here. Some of the stuff that happens on shows in other countries would never be accepted here I think for concern of being sued.
