So, using Nikon View NX2, I can see the focus point information ? Cool !

Can either of those display the focus point(s) used?

They both display the Red Square as was posted above. The Meta Data displays the AF used ie AF-C 9 point, etc.

And both are free to download from Nikon. Ha!

They are. It shows the focus point on my D750. View NX2

You can use "Focus Magic" to bring out of focus areas in focus, but then it will reduce the image size a lot.

Trying to "fix" this shot will only make it worse.

I for one kind of like it the way it is. The focus is on the #3 . After all it's her 3rd birthday and that is pretty important.

I also like the way it is. It's like you captured the #3 on purpose.
If you make a mistake then make the best of it.
Here's my fix.
