I'm using a pretty old version of Photoshop which is perfectly adequate for my needs, so I have no plans to upgrade, but the embedded version of ACR doesn't explicitly support the D5300 (yes, it's that old!).
It won't open D5300 NEF files directly, so I'm using Adobe's DNG converter and the resulting DNG's will open fine in ACR - but I'm concerned that the appropriate defaults being used, particularly in the Adjust and Detail tabs, but also the Curve tabs, may not be right for the D5300. For example, Sharpness is set to the "magic" 25, as is Color Noise Reduction.
Obviously I can experiment with and adjust these settings, but it would be useful to have a starting point that's specific to my camera. If anyone is using a version of ACR that explicitly suppports the D5300 (I believe 8.3 or later is required), could they please report on what settings are being applied by default by ACR?
