Which are the best cleaning kits for the camera (viewfinder, mirror etc) & lenses?

Looking for the best - not cheapest. ;)

The "best" cleaning kit, I think, is the one you put together yourself.

I do a lot of hiking in the desert and back-country hot and dry southern California, so I know camera cleaning... Jeez, do I ever. My preferred tools include a 2 1/2" synthetic-bristle paint brush (for knocking big chunks of dust and crud off the camera/lens body), baby wipes (for general wiping down) a Giottos Rocket Blower (medium), what my girlfriend tells me (and Amazon agrees it seems) is a "large powder brush" (for removing dust/sand/grit from front-lens elements and filters) and a microfiber towel I got from the auto-parts store. With those, I'm pretty much covered.

What a well timed question. Seems I have been bad at this aspect - even though I thought I was doing all right. My sensor has dust bunnies living on it and I have ordered a sensor cleaning kit which sounds comprehensive.
Hang on I'll see if I can find the site.
Camera Check Point services for photographersI am not suggesting you buy from there but there is some good information and I will send you a PM for a Cleaning PDF which i think is very good.

Yes, thanks for the info Lawrence. But a friend of mine says that dust bunnies need a place to live also.

Well there is the solution to all's problems.
Your friend can build a 'dust bunny" hutch and house all the dust bunnies in the world. I believe they cost nothing to feed.

Yes, but then my friend would have to round up all her dust bunnies and heard them into the hutch and that would be just too much work. She has a very live and let live attitude toward them. at least she does not give them names, or i would begin to worry.

Wondering if our wives know each other?

I am happy with this Zeiss cleaning kit that I purchased from walmart optometry office.

$5.00

Thanks Rick

Does no-one have a Nikon kit?

I wouldn't get too hung up on Nikon branded accessories, they are not necessarily the best. Even Zeiss for that matter, most of it is the same stuff re-branded. Most "kits" aren't necessarily full of the best stuff.
