Camera EDC

I'm in the habit of slinging my FE2 over my shoulder when I walk out the door, wherever I happen to be going (except to work). I usually carry it like a duffle bag; over one shoulder, under my arm. If I'm going to use the camera I pull the strap over my arm so it's around my neck to shoot (not cool).

I know I need a new strap anyway, because this one says NIKON on it, and I should be low key about my photography, right?:) As straps go, this Nikon strap is pretty basic. Nothing great about it.

So my question is, is there a strap that would accommodate two carry methods: EDC and shooting?

For those of you who have a Black Rapid, are you comfortable wearing it while walking around for a few hours without shooting? Do you have a different position for each use?

Think of yourself walking around with your camera (and your wife) at the Shipshewana flea market for a whole day in the hot sun. I was just there two weeks ago. We had a good time.

I find the Black rapid indispensable for camera and long lens,i still have not tried it with camera and small lens,i get the feeling i will not like the balance of it fitted to the camera tripod mount.

I'll have to buy one, even if only to know what I think of it and to have something decent to compare other straps to. I've looked at the Black Rapid site a few times, and I totally understand the design being intended for a photographer who is constantly shooting and letting go of the camera to do other things and then shooting again. It's the tourist aspect of carrying a camera that interests me. If they turn out to be the same, that would be great.
