Camera Choice Dilemma.

The D7000 is a great camera, and I would personally keep it as a backup. I did a shoot the other day and found myself using the D7000 a lot more than the D800 because it is so fast and consistently good and, well, I don't yet have a zoom lens for the D800 ( ;) ). Even when I eventually get a D600, I think I'll want to keep the D7000.
I like the D7000 as well. It's light and easy to use. I gave most of my DX lenses to my son except for a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 and a Tameron 18-270 f/3.5-6.3;with AF and Vibration Reduction. This is a great "all-in-one" walk around lens.
All in all a great backup.
