Love Belgian Beer, Alfa Romeo fan => what are you doing in in Montana?
Anyway, very nice line up of cars there.

Well, that is a good question. lol It is a very nice state to live in but my wife and I did try to find work in Europe because we wanted our daughter have that experience before she starts school. We didn't have much luck working it out though. I am hoping for a Belgium, Germany, Italy trip a year from now as it has been 5 years since we last got over there.

This is an 8 shot stitch of Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge - beautiful area, but rainy and windy for us (super windy) had fun though.

This is the St. Helena Cathedral in Helena MT. - I'm not really a religious person but the talent that went into designing and building of the old cathedrals makes me love to photograph them. Unbelievable really, and they didn't have CAD and powertools.

I had a go at these stellar jays the other morning, really tough at 400mm to track these robin sized birds. I love their color though and I got a few im happy with.

I love the eagle in flight with his wings up. Were all these taken with the 80-400and D3 Billy?

Yeah Marcel, I actually had to get rid of the D4. :( I am starting a new business and the extra 2k came in helpful.
But, the D3 is not a disappointment at all. I actually like the functions and button layout better, except there Is no af point scroll in vertical position. I still have complaints about the 80-400, but it is a very useful lens.
It has a lot of chatter in AF-c mode, like it just can't figure out the exact point to focus on... mostly at long distances, and oddly, it has been worse in the cold temps of winter. could be due to the huge range of zoom, but you see it in the sequence shots. About 50% keeper rate in a series of say 10 frames, and just to clarify - the 70-200 f2.8 is up at about 85% and costs less. With the 1.4 attached it is only a 340mm but faster aperture wise.
