not sure what is going on, but in lightroom these look smooth as silk, but ever since i bought lightroom 5 my down sizing get MORE noise, which is starting to bug me...

Why don't you try to process it with CS5 or 6 just to show us what the difference might be?

Well, and I am just being stubborn here, I bought PS 4 full version, then i upgraded to PS 6, then I upgraded to CS. Then I waited too long (with no notice that upgrades were being canceled) and now I can't upgrade from CS to any of the newer PS's. So I'm angry about it and i already let Adobe know, and i find it maddening that I have to spend another $1200 or so, after already spending upwardes of $1500 on the original and the upgrades. Kinda boycotting adobe PS in my own little world. I may reload LM 4 and see if it makes any difference.
cheers

Bill, it just came to me that I had the same problem with a CS upgrade. I found out that my resizing options were not the same as my previous version. I'm not sure about LR, but check the resizing options and make sure you use "bicubic sharper" for best reduction. This might be the solution you're looking for.

Mine is the original CS Don - it's old, can't believe they are going to make it rent to use - that is silly.

I will have to take a look at the sizing options - I did make some changes for full size exports and maybe it got messed up when I switched back to low rez. Thanks for the tip!

I bought CS6 using the Faculty/student discount and that saved me a bundle of money. It will be the last version I buy though. I don't like the idea of renting my software either. I took a PhotoShop class at a local community college this summer and got it then. My wife is also a teacher and I have bought software using her discount several times.
