Buying a tripod. Pistol grip?

I can't say if that head will work, but I'd think it should. The head seems a bit weak in my book, but I've never used that type of head, nor that brand.

Sorry I'm not much help buddy. :(

+I just realized it's rated for only 5 lbs. Here is one that's rated at 18lbs Dolica G100 Pistol Grip Head G100

I got this one in from Amazon today. I loaded my D7100 with 18-140 on it and played. When I first moved it to the portrait position it did slip. Then I realized that there is an adjustment for the tension and after adjusting it a little I could put it in any position I wanted to and it would stick with no movement. Also I have RA so my hands give me a lot of problems and the grip was not a problem to release. There are two bubble levels on the base . They are the circle kind that show level in every direction. There is also a standard bubble level up by the camera base to get that level.

Going out Monday night shooting with my camera club so it will get a good test that night.

I have no experience with that one, but have used a Manfrotto, which I did like and will look for in the used market after a while.
