Buckeye checking in!

Hello fellow Nikonites!

After a few months of research and indecision I finally took the plunge and picked up a Nikon D90. This will be my first go round with a DSLR and am looking to learn as much as I can. I stepped up from a Canon SX40HS and while I love that camera...the D90 is just amazing. I am not going to lie...this thing comes with a learning curve. And buttons....tons of the little things. But I am now having more fun with a camera than I have ever had. Coming from years of shooting with a point and shoot. I seriously should have made the leap sooner.

I am looking forward to getting to know and growing with all of you.

Welcome to the board!! And "Go Buckseyes"!!

You know, I'm an OSU alumni but I've never understood why the school's mascot is a poisonous nut from a tree that produces poor lumber. Maybe it's some kind of Zen thing...? :confused:

When I was a LEO in Ohio, we used to call one of the Supervisors "Buckeye".

He thought we were complimenting him as a good Ohioan.

The definition of a buckeye is "A hairless nut with little or no worth." He never figured it out.


Oh, and I'm a Kent State Alum. Go Flashes! Beat Akron tonight (MAC Tourney, Semi-Finals).
