I'm hoping that the gentleman who started this topic is still around. I would like to try to buy his lens, as I think that I can fix it and put it to good use.

Today I got a Tamron 150-600mm lens. What a beast! It's less than a year old and I paid 550 for it. I don't think I got hurt. It's in perfect condition.

I think you are one lucky guy to get a Tamzooka for that price. Oh, and welcome to the forum

Its nearly 2 years old this post so I would he'd have done something, either fix or flog at this point, you never know though

Good price on the Tamron though !!

I'm now reassembling the lens after making repairs to both the flex circuit and the lens frame.

In the process I may have invented a new type of spanner wrench for optical technicians to use.
It's very convenient, fully adjustable, and extremely solid. There might be a few bucks to be made here.

I ran into a few snags (parts that went missing) but have managed to secure spares, in the form of yet ANOTHER broken lens of the same type. By being a bit more methodical in the teardown and having a better understanding of how it all goes together, I am cautiously optimistic that the repair and rebuild will be successfully completed this evening.

I'm video recording the process using my D800.
