Bring a camera... or not? If so, what kind?

Interesting discussion and perspective. I'm not sharing it to promote Fuji, but as a topic to discuss when to bring a camera or not. The video creator is a full time Nikon pro.

Full disclaimer, I am a former Nikon and now Fuji shooter. I actually added a X-E5 last year as opposed to the X100VI as my everyday carry camera. This video really resonated with me and is reflective of why I've come to really enjoy the X-E5 when I don't use the larger X-T5.

I can sum up the overly breathy video. The Fuji is becoming a photography for fun camera. His Z8 is for working with.

Look at many of Hudson Henry's videos for the past 2 years and he often repeats how he uses his Zf for personal and recreational use and his Z9 more for work. Bring out the power tools to build with purpose, hand tools to reconnect with being a craftsman.

That's a really good comparison and perspective. I remember having related discussions back in the early mirrorless days with @Marcel and @crashton (and others) about the attraction of the more analog controls of cameras like the Zf and Fuji's. IMO I think that is half of the point this video makes.

The other piece of the discussion is having a camera you will take with you. I think that explains the attraction to camera phones, the renewed interest in the retro all-in-ones like the new RX10, and the X100VI and the GRiii/GRiiix.
