They are not painted yet. They are made out of 1/8" aluminum. Center hole is tapped for 1/4-20, outer holes are drilled @ 1/4".

They serve a couple of purposes. Great for increased power when shooting outdoors in harsh sun. They also work well for filling LARGE octaboxes, and softboxes with even light.
Also works good for shooting both lights @ lower power settings for faster recharge times. But still getting the light that is needed.

Congrats on the nice find. I have never used CL but I've been pretty fortunate on eBay setting up searches with notifications.

Please post some pics where you use mount system, I've been looking for a setup so that I can take our family holiday pics this year instead of paying hundreds at a studio.
