This is the Tall Ship Kalmar Nyckel that was docked at the Bristol Wharf over the weekend. The event was very crowded Saturday so I went back yesterday when I saw it was still there. During the event, they offered boat rides and tours of the vessel although those weren't offered yesterday. However the pier was still accessible for photos.
A few more of the tall ship although I haven't had time to edit all of the images yet.
In this first pic, one of the carved faces belongs to a man who has volunteered for at least 13,000 hours. From what I read, all the people who help are volunteers when this sails up and down the eastern coast of the USA. The ship is loaded with intricate carvings.
The eagle has landed. :beguiled:
Another image that shows some people need the skills of Spiderman to climb these ropes.
And I think this was the most butt-ugly of carvings on the entire ship. Lol.
