I just saw them too! Now I have a 3 way tie! The Carry Speed may be the best of both worlds!

I really like it too
Just waiting for the right moment to get it :D
Anyway snap-happy here has one... i did talk to her about it & she had only good things to say about it specially since she was originally considering a BR too

I considered that one and ruled it out for me due to the neoprene used in the shoulder pad being an insulator and would likely sweat me real bad in the summer.

I almost bought another camera strap because of this thread but luckily I paused and re-think everything.

Using a D800E which is approx 900g + Nikon 24-70mm f2.8G (900g) + Nikon SB900 (414g) plus batteries will weight approx. 5 lbs give or take a few especially if you want to add a battery grip. That's 5 lbs pressing against your shoulder or around your neck. Regardless on who makes the strap, my set-up will tire you up within few hours of walking around. This gets worse if I use the 70-200mm f2.8 lens. :eyetwitch:

So, I guess for now, my current strap will have to work since I included a seat belt strap that uses a memory foam to soften the weight a little bit.

Glenn, These straps which cross your body do a great job of distributing the weight. Maybe pick one up to try out. You can always return it :)

Glen, the sport has a strap for under you arm as well. I carry my 7000 gripped with a 70-200 f4 just about all day during baseball and hardly notice the weight. The across the body straps are great and can't see myself without one. I had the same setup on with my flash for a few hours shooting family portraits and same thing, they really work. The different brands really only offer connections, the straps and how they work are pretty much the same.

Just put my order in for the Carry Speed, I'll post my thoughts when it arrives next week :)

Thanks for all the input!

I use a Carry Speed Strap and really like it. It allows me to connect to my tripod without removing anything. I also keep my cordless remote and extra SD cards in the pouch on the shoulder strap. I have taken my tripod and equipment out to shoot and was some distance from my car when I noticed I had forgotten my remote, now it is always with me and I don't ever have to look for it.

A couple of reasons that I decided on the Carry Speed Strap is that it uses a plate that screws into the tripod mount which I feel is a stronger connection. By having the plate the strap connects to the bottom edge of the camera which, to me, makes it more stable and not swing or spin as much. This plate also allows you to still connect a quick connect so a tripod can be used without removing anything. And the finnal reason is that is less than half the price of the Black Rapid.

I am only giving you my reasons for my purchase and I am not trying to convince you to get one over the other. It also came with the extra little strap to go under your arm but I do not use it.

I looked at the video and do not like this newer version of the Carry Speed Strap. This is the one I bought and like. It has the plate that keeps the camera from rotating around and allows you to have your quick connect added without removing the strap.

Ok, looks like a third version is out there, The one I ordered has a plate also, just a newer version I guess. I'll see how it performs, should be delivered Friday! Nothing like a new toy coming! :)

I do like his point on the buckle for the carry speed versus the black rapid, wished I would have thought of that or seen this before.

It really pays to pick the brains of others here, I would have normally just bought the first thing i liked on impulse. With everyone's input, I think I ended up ordering the one best suited for me and saved some money in the process.

I agree and I can work around it. I really like how the BR has an extra strap that goes under the arm as well, which I would imagine can be done on any of them. Oh well, if the buckle is the only complaint then I can remedy that. I will be curious to see what you think about yours so make sure you update Rick.
