Ok here we go.
A few weeks ago I went to the local camera store to check out some BR straps. I really wanted to get a better strap for my D3.
I ended up picking up the RS-7/Curve Strap.
Let me say this so that I am clear, I am 6'1 345lbs. So I needed a long strap.
I got home and the first thing that I did was extend it all the way and hook my D3 to it. I sling it over my shoulder and the camera body should be at my waist or a touch lower, NOPE, it sat about 4-5" above my waist and I knew it was because of my size.
I tried to use it for about a week this way and it just wasn't working. I went to Black Rapid's Facebook page and set them a message. I never expect anything from any company anymore in this day and age.
I specifically stated that I love the strap, but for someone my size it's too short.
I know that they make an extender for their straps, but at the same time I wanted to make them aware of the length for bigger people.
To my surprise, I received a respond. They asked which strap and when I told them, they stated that they would send me a Bert & a Brad for my strap. I was SHOCKED to say the least. Given these aren't expensive, but at the same time he could have told me to get bent and order the extension myself.
So all of a sudden last week both arrive in the mail. I immediately added the extension to the strap and now it's PERFECT!!
I can not say enough good things about Black Rapid products and their amazing customer service and willingness and wanting to please customers.
They just gain a customer for life now!
So be aware, if you are taller or a touch on the bigger side you will most likely need to get the extension for the strap. It's well worth it. This strap when shooting with a D3 and 70-200 f/2.8 is a life saver!!
