This eclipse project has been such a learning curve with new software procedures. Convert the .NEFX files to .DNG with the Adobe DNG converter, then I can actually load them into RawTherapee for better work flow. Then relearning some of my image blending techniques in GIMP. Now the result of that is...

And I also rotated the full image correct because the equitorial view from my tracking telescope mount was at an angle to the horizon.

I plan not to use pixel-shift again until I buy a new computer. 16 year old CPU and NX-Studio is not the proper combination.

More Moon Madness

The real goal was to capture Earthshine on the moon's shaded part. But there was a thin hazy cloud low to the horizon that ruined that. Made the moon less sharp also. But I like the composition. I used The Photographer's Ephemeris to find a spot that would put the moon over downtown Madison as it set.
