BF Hammer 2026: Me and my Zf

I guess, there is only one way to find out... To be honest I'm more concern about the lens being able to focus correctly...

I was able to find a cheap Viltrox 2x teleconverter, so I decided to give it a try... We also have the option of camera + Viltrox 2x teleconverter + Nikon ZTF adapter + (AF lens *)...

I'll report back, either the good or bad news... :)

It looks like you may have the same issue, as the extension tubes have a rectangular mask that may interfere with the element of the converter. It's possible there is clearance, but I wouldn't count on it. Even if it did have clearance, you would likely have to be VERY careful when mounting the tube to avoid damaging the converter. Even if this worked, I doubt you would be happy with the results. The 28-400 has an aperture of F/8 at 400mm. You would lose 2 stops with the 2x converter and end up with F/16 as maximum aperture. I seriously doubt that your autofocus would operate at F/16. The other issue is a 2x converter will degrade the image quality of a lens that is already suffering from a high zoom ratio design to begin with.

And don't forget you loose the ability to focus to infinity with an extension tube. Just consider each added optical element between camera and lens to be degrading your photo to some degree. The extension tube not a problem, but you are trading some quality for reach when you go to a teleconverter. That's why I never bothered shopping for another teleconverter after that Tamron I had.

Outside Brownsville, WI. Used one of my new ND filters (ND32) and perhaps should have used a ND16. Sun darkened my glasses and I had a difficult time overall seeing the composition. I may have to change to clip-on sunglasses instead of the photo-darkening lenses on my next glasses.

Cropped to follow rule of thirds. Not sure it actually works this time.

I really like the b&w above, it really "pop's" to my eyes and is a very pleasing view. I like the space of sky above the windmill above the cloud

(Hope you don't mind the comment)

Comment welcome. I like the BW also, but the ladies at where I work immediately liked the colors when I shared them.

May 8, I lunched at Goose Pond on the way to a customer no-show repair job. A little slow out there.

And at end of the work day, I stalked the wild Sebastian, who is extremely camera shy.

Bonus short-but-crappy video. Yes I was operating 3 cameras at the same time. Sun was so bright I could not even really see the screen on my Lumix to preview the video framing.

Second half not bad. Have you ever tried to shooting infrared video?
