A trifecta of suggestions to get you started:

1. Learn some basic guidelines of composition and how to apply them.

2. Thoroughly understand The Exposure Triangle and how it applies to EVERY shot you will ever take.

And finally...

3. RTFM.

I would check and do an auto fine tune with that lens especially if you will be shooting with a larger aperture.

Find out if you get purple fringing when shooting wide open and if it does what are the options to avoid that.

recently upgraded from dx d7000 to a pro cam with out the pro stupidly, but im up for the challenge of enhancing my pix for sure, i feel i want the perfect pix but results are far off, no its not the camera its me, struggling with the easy uploader its not playing ball

We all start that way at one point. It is not going to improve overnight and even a new camera might even complicate things in the beginning due to lack of familiarization.

just keep on shooting until you start improving your style and technique.
It will improve as time goes by.
