Best ND filter?

So I think I'm gonna get the Hoya HD circular polarizer filter but I'm not sure which ND filter to get. I've been hearing great things about the Hoya Pro ND 1000, but is there any alternatives that people here know of?

I'm using a B+W 10 stopper and am pretty satisfied about it. This far all their material was good.

Hoya ND 400 (9 stop) is what I use, but that or J-see's would be perfect. Variable NDs are troublesome after 5-6 stops, and for me anything less than that is very specific use IMO and won't help with water and the like. Get one that fits your largest filter size and use step up rings with everything else.

I wasn't familiar with the brand but after using it for a while and deciding to get my own I was shocked to find it's only $30 on Amazon (for a 77mm). I'm getting no discernible color cast, it's slim and multi-coated. Great reviews on Amazon, too.

The 67mm equivalent is a few bucks cheaper and has free shipping. For that sort of price, it's worth the risk. I think I'll try it out.

I just bought one of the ICE ND 1000's as well, based on the Fish's recommendation, and the few test shots I've taken with it (just toying, not worth posting) have been quite nice! I got a 58mm for my nifty fifty and a step-up ring so I could use it on the 18-55. All the larger sizes were sold out at the time. Once they restock, I'll be getting a 67mm too. At that price, it's almost as cost effective as getting one larger filter and multiple step-up rings!

Circular polarizer is next on the list as a must have before taking the trip to Florida this year.
