LOL - I usually just use the "sticking out tongue" face when I get sarcastic :p

There are a multitude of reviews on third party battery grips for the D610. Looks like there are several good ones to choose from. I'm also encouraged when I see a big name vendor carrying a product, take that to mean they have at least a little confidence in it.

Ah, good to know. I bought the cheapest grip with 2 batteries for $70 shipped and have been happy since. in fact I bought 2. 2 things I modded. 1, was the focus area selector. I crazy glued that in place. Im a center focus and recompose person. it kept moving because it was up against my body and it annoyed me, so just glued it so it wont move. works fine from the body if I need it. and the second was to glue the grip's lock dial for the shutter button because I wanted it on all the time. it moved to lock at times when I shot a few weddings and at critical times I really needed it on. its a no name brand and I couldnt be happier.

If you are set up for your camera to use AE/AF Lock as your AF-ON button does the grip work as the AF-ON button?

This is one thing i wanna ask too, lately i've been using the AE/AF lock as my AF-ON button and it does great. I recommended it to a friend who owns a D7000 with a nikon grip, however, he says that the AF-ON button does not work when he shoots in portrait orientation (meaning using the shutter button on the grip)......
I still don't have a grip for my 610.
Any comments/thoughts on this.....thanks in advance
