Beehive Cluster, The Moon and Jupiter in mid October.

If you happen to be up in the early morning hours on Oct 15th, there will be a 32% illuminated moon with the Beehive open cluster right above it and Jupiter above the Beehive. I am not sure if the moon will washout the Beehive. On the 16th the moon will be 23% illuminated, and the Beehive will be about center between the moon and Jupiter.
The Beehive is a pretty cluster that has been used to tell if there are storms on the horizon. When I first saw the Beehive, it was low on the horizon and really pretty.
I might set up my camera and see what happens if I manage to get up or not go to bed those nights. Probably will be the 2 nights I don't have insomnia.

It looks like it would be in a 50mm to 100mm lens required to capture in 1 frame, by estimate looking at the Stellarium phone app. I would have to check on the actual PC software to verify. The moon would look rather small in the image.

Just checked on my PC, full frame sensor will capture at 50mm in landscape mode, but a crop-sensor camera would need to rotate to portrait mode. And the star cluster likely would be obscured by the moon if Stellarium is accurate. I have it set to mimic visual conditions.

Yeah, probably. Would still be pretty in binoculars if the cluster isn't washed out.
