Bag Help !!!

Hi all,

Wondering if you all can help me. I think I am getting on well with all my photography and I am getting more equipment as I go but I cant seem to find the right bag or back pack for me. I have had the smaller Lowepro Slingshots and now use the larger slingshot 300 AW and they do work for me very well, but with now needing to carry 2 bodies and short, medium and longer lenses, etc, I am struggling to find a bag to suit. Yes there are loads out there that are big enough but the Slingshots have very handy front and top smaller pockets which are great for you drinks, sunglasses and general photography bits and pieces. I have now purchased a large Lowepro Nature Trekker AW 2, see pics, which is great for the camera gear in the main compartment but it has no additional pockets apart from a full sized front pocket which looks like it will take an A4 notepad, tablet, etc.

Not wanting to go hiking with my gear very often as most of my shoots are one day only, can any of you advise me of a large backpack that does not have all the padded waist belt and extra hanging straps that get in the way which also has a few extra pockets as well as the main one. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks. LPPTAW2BK.jpg

I'm looking at bags myself, but not for your requirements.

Seems best to go and look in a shop so you can compare to your experience and feel. Generally Lowepro you know what you get, some others you might consider the risk you want to take.

You might want to consider the Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50. Yes, it has the hip belt but it's attached with industrial strength Velco so it's removable.

This is a very well built bag and it's very comfortable to wear for day-hikes. Like you, I also appreciate the clean exterior.

I have had the Lowepro 302 AW Lowepro SlingShot 302 AW Camera Bag LP36174 B&H Photo Video for a while now. While I currently only have one camera body (D3100), I will soon have a second camera body (D7100) and yet another lens Nikon 18-140 mm. The bag will definitely hold all the lenses I have, including the Sigma 150-500 mm lens. All of the main compartments are velcro attached, so it's easy to make them larger or smaller depending on your needs. There is a tripod strap on the side (wish there were two straps instead of just one) and plenty of accessory pockets in and around the bag. The shoulder sling is very comfortable and well padded. Just another option for you to consider.
