These are from a shoot the other day.

I personally think I've come a long way in just over a year of photographing newborns. One well known photographer gave me the best advice: Keep it simple. Stick to simple until you shoot simple consistently well.

I like pic 2 the best as we can see the baby in full
I think that's something you might want to consider, not cutting off portions of the subject, especially when they're small and cute like babies.
